Hello! My name is BettyJo Camp and I have a private practice in Holder, Florida. I offer in person and telehealth sessions. I am a United States Marine Corps Veteran and I am proud I served in the Armed Forces. Now, I am proud and honored to serve you. I come from humble beginnings and know what it is like to struggle in life. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania until I was 11 years old then lived in Oklahoma until adulthood. I've been to many places inside and out of the United States. I live with my husband Chris of 27 years and two toy poodles, Thor & Loki. I also have a son Lane attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
My belief is that counseling is not one size fits all. I use effective therapeutic methods while incorporating your strengths within your treatment goals to help you become your best self and gain inner peace. My philosophy is one of "progress not perfection." I am a guide in helping you on your journey through life.
I want you to know that I am an ethical, honest, hardworking, and down to earth counselor that wants to truly help you. I am committed to the community and want to contribute to its vitality and warmth through my counseling practice.
You are not alone in the world, believe in yourself, love yourself, and know that you have the power within to be the person you've always wanted to be. If I am not a match for you I will help you find another counselor that will best meet your needs.
While attending the University of Oklahoma, I completed my LPC-Candidate Internship by working as a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist (BHRS) with a community counseling agency teaching skills to individuals, couples, and families in the rural and urban settings. After my internship completion and graduation with a Master's Degree, I worked as an LPC-Candidate under supervision in Oklahoma for two-and-a-half years. I then moved to Florida, finished my supervision requirements by working as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with a community counseling agency in Orlando for eight months. After passing the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I have five years of experience in the counseling setting and profession. If you would like to know anything more please feel free to contact me.
